SHAKESPEARE

19 04 2010

WILLIAM "THE BARD"

William Shakespeare was an English poet and playwright, widely regarded as the greatest writer in the English language and the world’s pre-eminent dramatist. He is often called England’s national poet and the “Bard of Avon” (or simply “The Bard”). His surviving works consist of 38 plays, 154 sonnets, two long narrative poems, and several other poems. His plays have been translated into every major living language, and are performed more often than those of any other playwright.

HEY BOYS, HERE YOU ARE THE RECIPE THAT WE WOULD DO THE LAST WEEK OF DECEMBER, WE WILL HAVE TO CHANGE SOME INGREDIENTS IF I DO NOT FIND THEM!

The Ultimate Sugar Cookie

3/4 cups Butter
1 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
2-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1-1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
Coloured decorations or icing

Cream Crisco, sugar, eggs and vanilla in large mixer bowl at medium speed of electric mixer until light and creamy. Cmbine flour, baking powder and salt. Add to creamed mixture, mixing on low speed until well blended. Cover dough and chill 1 hour, if desired, for easy rolling. Preheat oven to 375°F. Roll half of dough at a time. Roll out dough on lightly floured surface to 1/4-inch thickness. Using a cookie cutter, cut in desired shapes. Place on ungreased baking sheets. Roll leftover pieces. Sprinkle with coloured decorations or leave plain to decorate when cool. Bake at 375°F for 8 to 10 minutes, or until edges are light brown. (Time will vary with cookie size.) Cool slightly, then remove to cooling rack.

LAST CHRISTMAS

4 12 2009

Last Christmas I gave you my heart
But the very next day you gave it away
This year to save me from tears
I’ll give it to someone special

Last Christmas I gave you my heart
But the very next day you gave it away
(You gave it away)
This year to save me from tears
I’ll give it to someone special
(Special)

Once bitten and twice shy
I keep my distance but you still catch my eye
Tell me baby, do you recognize me?
Well, it’s been a year, it doesn’t surprise me

(Happy Christmas)
I wrapped it up and sent it
With a note saying ‘I love you,’ I meant it
Now I know what a fool I’ve been
But if you kissed me now I know you’d fool me again

Last Christmas I gave you my heart
But the very next day you gave it away
(You gave it away)
This year to save me from tears
I’ll give it to someone special
(Special)

Last Christmas I gave you my heart
But the very next day you gave it away
This year to save me from tears
I’ll give it to someone special
(Special)

Oh, oh my baby

Crowded room, friends with tired eyes
I’m hiding from you and your soul of ice
My god, I thought you were someone to rely on
Me, I guess I was a shoulder to cry on

A face on a lover with a fire in his heart
A man undercover but you tore him apart
Ooh hoo, now I’ve found a real love
You’ll never fool me again

Last Christmas I gave you my heart
But the very next day you gave it away
(You gave it away)
This year to save me from tears
I’ll give it to someone special
(Special)

Last Christmas I gave you my heart
But the very next day you gave it away
(You gave me away)
This year to save me from tears
I’ll give it to someone special
(Special)

A face on a lover with a fire in his heart
(Gave you my heart)
A man undercover but you tore him apart
Maybe next year I’ll give it to someone
I’ll give it to someone special
(Special)

Someone
Someone
I’ll give it to someone
I’ll give it to someone special

Who’ll give me something in return
(I’ll give it to someone)
Hold my heart and watch it burn
(I’ll give it to someone)
(I’ll give it to someone)
(I’ll give it to someone special)

I thought you were here to stay
How can you love me for a day?
I thought you were someone special!

Gave you my heart
(I’ll give it to someone)
(I’ll give it to someone)

Last Christmas I gave you my heart
You gave it away
(I’ll give it to someone)
(I’ll give it to someone)
